Cain Franson to Attend Canucks Camp

The Vancouver Giants Hockey Club is pleased to announce that forward Cain Franson will attend the Vancouver Canucks Prospect Development Camp running June 29 through July 2 here in Vancouver. Having gone unclaimed in the 2012 NHL Draft, Franson will attend the camp as a free agent invitee.

The native of Sicamous, BC, had a break-out season with the Giants in 2011/2012, registering 27 goals, 31 assists, a +26 rating and 31 PIM in 70 regular season games played. He then added 5 goals and 2 assists in 6 post-season games.

The 19-year-old is listed at 6’1”, 168 lbs, and can play both centre and on the wing. His older brother is Cody Franson, a former Giant blueliner that has gone on to begin a solid NHL career in Nashville and now with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Cody was inducted to the Giants Ring of Honour last season.
