Giants Win Thriller 4-3

Delta BC - Evander Kane scored his second goal of the game with just 10 seconds remaining as the Vancouver Giants defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-3 in WHL Exhibition action on Friday night at the Sun God Arena in Delta BC.

Kelowna struck first in this game, as Evan Bloodoff was able to open the scoring at 4:55 of period one. Mitch Callahan and Lukas Matejka drew assists on the goal and the Rockets were off to a running start. Garry Nunn answered back for the Giants under four minutes later to level the game at one...the Giants outshot the Rockets 4-3.

The second period saw the Giants jump out to a 3-1 lead as Evander Kane scored with help from Craig Cunningham to make the score 2-1 at 5:02 of period two. JT Barnett doubled the lead five minutes later with his first goal of the preseason at 10:36...but the Rockets would not go away and scored just 16 seconds later as Brandon McMillan cut the lead to 3-2. Giants outshoot the Rockets 15-8 in period two.

The Rockets complete the comeback as Spencer Main tied the game up at 5:40
of period three. After chances by both teams, the Giants capitalized on a mad scramble in front of the Rockets goal and Kane smacked in a loose puck
to cap a entertaining evening of hockey.

Kraymer Barnstable went the distance in goal and picked up the victory for
the Giants...the same two teams face each other again tomorrow in Kelowna.
