Giants Bounce Bruins 4-1, Sweep weekend set of games

Jonathon Blum returns from NHL training camp in style, notching one goal and one assist in an impressive 4-1 Giants victory over the Chilliwack Bruins on Sunday night.

James Wright with his second, Misha Fisenko with his first in the WHL and Evander Kane with his team leading fourth goal of the season also scored for the Giants, while Ryan Howse was the only Bruin to beat Giants net minder Tyson Sexsmith. Sexsmith was also strong this evening, stopping 25 of 26 shots for his 2nd win of the season.

The Giants wrap up the weekend with three wins in three nights and own a WHL
best 4-0-0-1 record through their first five games. The Giants can now focus on some home cooking, as they play their next five games at the Pacific Coliseum. You can join the Giants for their next game at the Rink on Renfrew as they will host the Seattle Thunderbirds this coming Friday, October 3rd. Game time will be at 7:30 p.m.. Fans can also listen to the game on Superhits 650 CISL and in the rink on 88.7 FM. Pregame show with Dave Sheldon and Steve Ewen will be at 7 p.m.
