Giants Tie it up for Cancer

On Saturday October 4th 2008, the Vancouver Giants lent their support to Canadian Breast Cancer/CIBC Run for the Cure.

On the ice, the Vancouver Giants players added a touch of pink to their uniforms and off the ice wore pink ties to show their support for Breast Cancer survivors, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and countless volunteers.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we had ten of our players donate their ties to be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research. Each tie is autographed and accompanied by a photo of each corresponding player wearing the tie.

Five ties on Friday October 10th and five on Saturday October 11th will be available to be bid on at the Giants Silent Auction table. Each night the ties will go to the highest bidder.

On Friday October 10th, the following ties will be available:
# 17 Casey Pierro-Zabotel
#19 James Wright
# 5 Craig Schira
# 28 Brent Regner
# 7 your Captain – Jonathon Blum

On Saturday October 11th, the remaining ties will be available:
# 14 Craig Cunningham
# 10 Lance Bouma
# 4 Mike Berube
# 9 Vancouver’s own – Evander Kane
And your Head Coach – Don Hay

All ties will be at your silent auction table both nights.
Remember proceeds go to a fantastic cause.

Thank you,
From your Vancouver Giants
