TOP GUN SHOWDOWN ON SATURDAY NIGHT!Kane and Schenn face-off as Wheat Kings battle Giants
October 31/08 Vancouver BC – Two of the young guns of the WHL will face-off in their only showdown of the season as Vancouver Giants forward Evander Kane and Brandon Wheat Kings forward Brayden Schenn will square off Saturday night at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. Kane, from Vancouver BC, is currently second in WHL scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points. Schenn, from Saskatoon SK, is the reigning WHL Rookie of the Year, beating Kane out for that honour last season, and is currently second on the Wheaties with 15 points so far this season. Both Kane and Schenn are projected to go in the TOP 10 in the upcoming NHL draft. Schenn’s brother Luke, a TOP 5 pick in last year’s NHL draft, has made the Toronto Maple Leafs as a 19 year old...both of these players are projected to be bona fide NHL’ers! Game time on Saturday night between Vancouver (11-0-0-3) and Brandon (9-5-1-0) will be at 7 p.m. The Giants are expecting a large crowd as there are no other major sporting events occurring in town on Saturday.
